Add default trade qualifications for employees using the Default qualifications for trade button to retrieve all qualifications defined for a trade to an employee record. If any qualifications associated with the trade already exist on the employee record, Datastream 7i does not copy the duplicate qualification to the employee record.
Trades are created to define groups for the types of employees performing maintenance work. You can create a set of qualifications for a trade and define them as default qualifications to establish the minimum qualifications for an employee associated with a trade to perform work. If the employee does not fulfill the minimum requirements to perform certain work, Datastream 7i does not allow that employee to be scheduled to perform the work.
Follow these steps to add default trade qualifications for employees.
Open the Employee form (WNPERS).
Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.
Query for the employee for which to add default trade qualifications.
Click Default qualifications for trade. Datastream 7i retrieves the Qualification and qualification Description for qualifications defined for the trade to which the employee is assigned.
Click the Qualifications tab. Datastream 7i displays the Qualifications page.
View and update the default trade qualification information for the employee as necessary.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
