> Defining Code-structure Combinations

Code-structure combinations depend on the number of classes defined on the Classes page of the Entities form (BNENTS). Define a maximum of eight coding levels for parts or three coding levels for activities.

Follow these steps to define code-structure combinations.

1. Open the Coding hierarchy form (BXHCST).

2. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

3. Entity—Click to select the Datastream 7i entity for which to define code-structure combinations. Datastream 7i displays the related classes below Description.

4. Description—Enter a description of the structure-code combination.

5. Starting at the first field below Description, enter the different levels of structure with level 1 being the top level. You cannot enter a code for level 2 if you have not defined level 1.

6. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
