> Setting Up E-mail Parameters

Set up parameters to include in the body of the Messenger e-mail. Parameters must also be set up in the template mail body.

   Create a new trigger or set up an existing trigger to include parameters. To set up an existing trigger to include parameters, click the Parameter tab after selecting the trigger event (Update, Insert, or Delete). Datastream 7i displays the Parameter page as well as the Table and Template selected for the trigger.

Follow these steps to set up e-mail parameters.

  1. Open the Messenger trigger definition form (BXMAIL).

  2. Click the Parameter tab. Datastream 7i displays the Parameter page.

  3. Table—Click to select the table for which to set up e-mail trigger parameters.

  4. Mail template—Click to select the e-mail template to be sent for the parameter trigger.

  5. Parameter—Enter the parameter number for the trigger.

  6. Column—Enter the name of the column of the Datastream 7i table to be used when creating the e-mail content for the mail body.

  7. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

  8. Table (in lower section)—Click to select the table for this trigger.

  9. Select Update, Insert, or Delete to establish when you want e-mail to be sent that contains information according to the parameter setup.

   If you are setting up parameters for an existing trigger, you do not need to select an event.

  1. Click Create mail triggers. Datastream 7i generates the e-mail trigger.
