Datastream 7i provides two ways to classify information. Create classes for any entity/multiple functions using the Classes form (BNACLS). You can also create classes directly from the Class list of values (LOV) on forms to open the Classes form (BNCLAS).

You can only open the Classes form (BNCLAS) using the Class LOV on a form. You cannot open the Classes form (BNCLAS) using direct selection. |
Follow these steps to create classes.
Choose one of the following options:
Create a class from the Class LOV—Open any form containing a Class field and then double-click in Class. Datastream 7i displays the Classes form (BNCLAS). Creating a class from the Class LOV only creates the class for the entity of the form from which you opened the Classes form (BNCLAS), and you cannot modify the entity information displayed for Classes of.
Create classes for multiple functions—Open the Classes form (BNACLS), and then click to select the function for which to create classes.
Class—Enter a unique code identifying the class.
Description—Enter a description of the class.
Organization—Click to select the organization of the class if you use multi-organization security.

Click Translations to create a translation for the class description if you have more than one language installed. |
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
