> Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts are keys or key combinations for many Datastream 7i functions. Keyboard shortcuts are similar to hot keys except that keyboard shortcuts work only when the menus are not active.

Displays a short explanation of the selected field

SHIFT+F1

Displays information about an error reported by the Oracle system

CTRL+F1

Displays the mapping of functions to keys (same as this table for a standard installation)

F2

Displays a pop-up window that lists the tabs for the current form

SHIFT+F2

Counts the number of records a query will return

F3

Duplicates the same field value in the previous field

SHIFT+F3

Retrieves a remembered value in a field (if available)

CTRL+F3

Displays or hides the custom attribute panel or window

F4

Duplicates the previous record

SHIFT+F4

Clears the current record from the screen

CTRL+F4

Displays the associated documents window

F5

Opens the Home page or Navigator

F6

Inserts a new record below the current one

SHIFT+F6

Deletes the record

F7

Initiates a system query; clears all information on the screen and allows you to display a particular record, block, or screen

F8

Executes a system query

F9

Displays a list of possible values for a field

F10

Saves information to the database

F11

Opens the most recently accessed form

CTRL+F11

Displays a list of forms previously accessed during the session

F12

Opens the next logical form, which is the first item on the current feature’s back-end menu

Displays a list with the current feature’s back-end menu

CTRL+C

Copies selected (highlighted) information from a text box

CTRL+E

Displays a pop-up window in which you can enter information for a field or record. You can then edit the text as necessary. Click OK to save the text you entered and close the pop-up window.

CTRL+P

Refreshes the current screen

CTRL+Q

If in query mode, cancels current query; otherwise, it closes the current feature

CTRL+U

Clears the current field

CTRL+V

Pastes cut or copied information into a text box

CTRL+X

Cuts selected (highlighted) information from a text box

CTRL+PAGE DOWN

Moves the cursor to the next block

CTRL+PAGE UP

Moves the cursor to the previous block

SHIFT+TAB

Moves the cursor to the previous field or menu item

ALT+left mouse click

Opens the Action menu
