> Selecting Multiple Parts

Select multiple parts at one time. Multiple-part lookup tables are available from various forms in the materials, purchasing, and work modules: Suppliers (SMSUPP), Pick list (SDPICK), Material lists (WNMATL), Purchase requisitions (SMREQS), Quotations (QMQUOT), Purchase orders (PMPORD), Blanket orders (PMBORD), Work orders (WMJOBS), Work order activities (WDACTJ), and Stock issues (SDISSU) forms.

Follow these steps to select multiple parts.

  1. On a form with multiple-part lookup capabilities, double-click for Part to select parts. Datastream 7i displays the Overview of parts dialog box.

  2. Query for parts to add to the original form, e.g., Purchase orders form.

  3. Quantity—Enter the number of parts to add.

On the Suppliers form (SMSUPP), you cannot enter a Quantity. Datastream 7i enters 1 when you select Add.

  1. Add—Select to add the part to the part basket.

  2. Repeat the previous three steps as necessary.

  3. Click View basket to view all the selected parts. Datastream 7i displays the Part basket items dialog box.

  4. Choose one or more of the following options as necessary:

  1. Click OK. Datastream 7i returns to the Overview of parts form.

  2. Click OK. Datastream 7i returns to the original form and creates lines for each part listed on the Part basket items dialog box.

To specify parts from multiple bins, e.g., on the Issue parts form (SDISSU), you must manually enter a second line for the part and select a different bin after you enter bin and lot information for all of the parts selected on the Overview of parts form.
