In Datastream 7i, many fields contain a list of values, indicated by a list of values button or by the words "List of values" appearing at the bottom of the program window.
The list of values stores all valid values for that field for quick reference and entry. Some values in the lists—the mnemonics, for example—are part of the Datastream 7i operating system. Others are defined during the setup phase of Datastream 7i implementation, and still others are defined in parent records.
To select a value from a list of values, click in the field, if one appears. If there is no button, but "List of values" appears at the bottom of the program window, double-click the field or press F9 on the keyboard. Datastream 7i displays the list of values from which you can select a value. For example, you can select a value for Location on the Equipment form.
