> Offsetting the Server

Offsetting the server allows you to view time in your local time zone, even if the server is in a different time zone. The time offset is determined by organization. Therefore, if you do not use multi-organization security and you want to offset the server, you must define the offset time for the system (*) organization. If multi-organization security is on and the organization is not specified, the time offset is determined by the system organization.

Follow these steps to offset the server.

  1. Open the Organizations form (BMORGS).

  2. Query for the organization for which to offset the server.

  3. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

  4. Server time offset—Enter the difference between the server time and the local time in hours. For example, if the server time is Eastern Time and the local time is Pacific Time, enter -3 for the difference.

  5. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the changes to the database.
