Set tab permissions for functions by defining data-manipulation privileges and selecting whether to display tabs. Set permissions for querying, updating, inserting, and deleting records on specific tabs of functions. You can also hide tabs altogether from users within a user group.
Function-level tab permissions define data manipulation privileges and default tab display settings for all users with access to a specific function. Review existing tab permissions for Datastream 7i functions and determine their suitability for the organization. Modify tab permissions as necessary to customize functions to accommodate the needs of the organization(s).

Datastream 7i provides predefined functions and their associated tabs. For example, if a function or tab is set to allow only queries, then that tab is designed for that function only. If you add the capability to insert records, Datastream 7i will not allow users to insert records. Exercise caution when changing system settings. |
