Datastream 7i users have different levels of authority within the system. For example, a manager might have authority to approve purchase requisitions. A planner might have authority to cancel a work order. A project manager might have authority to freeze a project.
Set up authorization levels for entity status values when records for the entity are created or when their status is modified. Set authorization levels at the system level or set them for user groups or individual users.
Follow these steps to set up authorizations.
Open the Status change authorization form (BNAUTH).
Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.
User group—Select the user group for which to define the status change authorization. Enter * if the authorization applies to all groups.
User—Select the user for whom to define status change authorization. Enter * if the authorization applies to all users in the user group.
Entity—Select the entity over which the user has authority.
Old status—Select the status code the user can change.
New status—Select the status code to which the user can change the old status code.
|
If you want the group to have authorization over all aspects of a particular process, enter all of the available status changes for that process. Enter * for any status and - for "No status yet" (i.e., to indicate a new record). |
Type—Select to allow users to make transitions.
Datastream recommends defining which transitions are allowed for the group and defining exceptions for individual users.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
