Associate VMRS codes with warranty documents to enable Datastream 7i to determine whether active warranties exist for VMRS codes referenced on work orders and work order activities.
The ability to associate VMRS codes with warranty documents enables Datastream7i to determine a warranties applicability to work orders and work order activities. If a work order has multiple activities, you can also create a claim for each activity or for selected activities.
When associating VMRS codes with warranty documents, you can do so at the system, assembly, and component level. Datastream 7i enables you to select a system; a system, assembly, and component; or a system and an assembly for each association. Selecting a system without selecting an assembly or component indicates that the warranty applies to all the assemblies and components in that system. Selecting a system and assembly without selecting a component indicates that the warranty applies to all components in the assembly. Selecting a system, assembly, and component indicates that the warranty applies only to the component.

If no VMRS codes are linked to a warranty document, the system considers the warranty to be a "bumper to bumper" warranty, which means that all systems in the equipment are covered by the warranty. |
