> Associating Warranties with Equipment

Associate warranty documents with specific pieces of equipment or with other equipment.

   Datastream 7i supports only equipment entities for warranty processing. To track warranties for parts, select By asset on the Parts form (SMPART).

Follow these steps to associate warranties with equipment.

  1. Open the Equipment form (OMOBJC).

  2. Query for the equipment with which to associate a warranty, and then click Documents on the options toolbar. Datastream 7i displays the Documents associated with equipment dialog box.

  3. Document—Click to select the warranty to associate with equipment. Datastream 7i displays the Select documents dialog box.

  4. Attach—Select to indicate to attach the warranty, and then click OK. Datastream 7i attaches the warranty and returns to the Documents associated with Equipment dialog box.

  5. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.

  6. Click . Datastream 7i closes the dialog box and returns to the previous form.
