> Defining Change Notices

Define change notices, setting up selection criteria for the parts to which to associate the change notice.

Follow these steps to define change notices.

  1. Open the Change notices form (TDCHNO).

  2. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

  3. Change notice—Enter a unique number identifying the change notice, and then enter a description of the reason for the change notice in the adjacent field.

  4. Organization—Click to select the organization to which the change notice belongs if you use multi-organization security.

  5. Status—Click to select the change notice status.

  6. Class—Click to select the class of the change notice. The classes shown belong to the CHNO entity.

  7. Manufacturer—Click to select the manufacturer of the assets affected by the change notice.

  8. Start date and End date—Enter dates indicating the time during which the manufacturer repairs or replaces assets affected by the change notice at no charge.

  9. Manufacturer match—Select to apply the change notice only to assets whose manufacturer matches Manufacturer.

  10. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.

  11. Click the Lines tab. Datastream 7i displays the Lines page.

  12. Old part—Click to select the part to replace.

  13. New part—Click to select the new replacement part.

  14. From equipment code and To equipment code—Click to select the first and last equipment codes of the range of assets to associate with this change notice. Wildcards are allowed.

  15. From serial number and To serial number—Click to select the first and last serial numbers of the range of assets to associate with this change notice. Wildcards are allowed.

  16. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
