Define logical meters by linking meters with equipment.

Follow these steps to define logical meters.

  5. Since installation—Enter the usage of the logical meter since the last change in the equipment hierarchy.

  6. Parent—Select to send the equipment’s meter readings down to child equipment identified on the Equipment hierarchy form (ODSTRU). If you create parent/child relationships, enter meter readings for the parent piece of equipment only on the Meter readings by equipment form (WDREAD).

  7. Child—Select to enable the child equipment to receive usage information from a higher-level piece of equipment identified on the Equipment hierarchy form (ODSTRU). The child equipment’s unit of measure (UOM) must match that of the parent.

  8. Meter—If you selected Parent, enter the code of the physical meter, if any.

  9. Last reading date—Enter the date of the last meter reading.

  10. Default daily usage—Enter the default daily usage of the meter.

  11. Quantity—Enter the number of readings used to calculate the average daily usage.

  12. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
