Datastream 7i displays the hierarchical structure of a piece of equipment.
|
You can also create a work order for any child equipment in the hierarchy, e.g., for any equipment except for the top-level piece of equipment. Select a piece of Equipment from the table on the right of the form, and then click Create WO. Datastream 7i displays the Create work order dialog box. Enter information into the fields as necessary, and then click OK. Datastream 7i creates a work order and displays a confirmation. Add additional information, e.g., activities, on the Work orders form (WMJOBS). |
Follow these steps to view equipment hierarchies.
Open the Equipment form (OMOBJC).
Query for the equipment for which to view hierarchy.
Click the Equipment hierarchy tab. Datastream 7i displays the Equipment hierarchy page.
View the equipment hierarchy on the left side of the form.
A number (e.g., 2003001) followed by the equipment type (A, P) indicates that this is the highest level for that equipment type.
A plus sign (+) indicates that the equipment has children, but they are not displayed. To display an equipment’s children, click the plus sign.
A minus sign (-) indicates that the equipment has children and the children are visible. Click the minus sign to hide the children.
Click on a piece of equipment to make it active; the equipment then becomes highlighted in blue. The children of the active row on the hierarchical area (on the left) are shown in detail on the right side of the form.
Click , in the field next to Get parents of type, to select an equipment type. Datastream 7i displays the highest-level parent for that type.

If you are on the Equipment hierarchy page and the equipment you selected has children displayed on the right detail section, clicking the List view or Record view tab automatically generates a search on these children. |
