> Modifying Pulldown Menus

Users access pulldown menus from the Forms, Reports, and Graphics menus on the Home page and the links bar on the left side of the screen. Modify the two levels of submenus available under the Forms and Links menus by user group as necessary.

Define a pulldown menu as a Procedure to create a workflow. Workflows are sequences of functions users access from the direct selection field on the Datastream 7i toolbar.

Modify pulldown menus on the Pulldown menu page of the User groups form (BMGROU). On this page, the middle section displays information about second-level menu options available. The bottom section displays information about the third-level menu options associated with the current second-level menu option.

Follow these steps to modify pulldown menus.

  1. Open the User groups form (BMGROU).

  2. Query for the user group for which to modify pulldown menus.

  3. Click the Pulldown menu tab. Datastream 7i displays the Pulldown menu page.

  4. Pulldown menu—Press the ARROW keys on the keyboard to locate the menu for which to create pulldown menus.

   To define the links for the Links bar, the installation parameter LINKIMG must be defined.

  1. Seq—Enter the number identifying the sequence in which the menu should appear on the screen.

  2. Function—Click to select a function for the second-level menu.

  3. Description—Enter a description of the second-level menu option as it appears to users.

  4. Procedure—Select to define this menu option as a workflow.

Complete the following steps in the lower section of the form.

  1. Seq—Enter the number identifying the sequence in which the menu should appear on the screen.

  2. Function—Click to select the function to appear as the third-level menu option.

  3. Description—Enter a description of the third-level menu option as it appears to users.

  4. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
