Associate manufacturers with parts after defining parts and manufacturers.
Follow these steps to associate manufacturers with parts.
Open the Parts form (SMPART).
Query for the part with which to associate manufacturers.
Click the Manufacturers tab. Datastream 7i displays the Manufacturers page.
Primary—Select if the manufacturer is the primary manufacturer for the part.
A large organization with more than one facility may have different primary manufacturers at different facilities for the same part.
Manufacturer—Click to select the manufacturer with which to associate parts.
Manufacturer part—Enter the manufacturer’s part number.
Drawing number—Enter the drawing number if a drawing of the part is available.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
