> Defining Repair Details for Parts

Enter details about parts that can be repaired and then reused. This information will be used if Datastream 7i auto-generates requisitions for repairable spares.

Follow these steps to define repair details for parts.

  1. Open the Stock form (SMSTOC).

  2. Query for the store/part combination for which to enter repair details.

  3. Click the Repair details tab. Datastream 7i displays the Repair details page.

  4. External repair—Select if the part should be repaired by an external supplier.

  5. Preferred supplier—Click to select the preferred supplier to repair the part.

  6. Equipment—Click to select the equipment to associate with the repairable spare on an internal repair work order.

  7. Department—Click to select the department to associate with the repairable spare on an internal repair requisition.

  8. Standard work order—Click to select the standard work order to associate with the repairable spare on an internal repair work order.

  9. Min repair quantity—Enter the minimum number of parts that need repair before Datastream 7i will create an automatic requisition line for the part.

  10. Internal repair price—Enter the cost of repairing the part internally.

  11. Lead time—Enter the number of days required to repair the part.

  12. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
