Use the Rapid entry of stock items per store form (SDREST) to set up new stores and populate them in a faster, more efficient manner. You can also create new parts on this form. However, because part information has far-reaching effects within a business, you should plan carefully before creating parts using this form.
|
You may use the Rapid entry of stock items per store form to populate stores with consumable parts only. You must use the Stock in bins form (SNSTBN) to initialize stock records for parts tracked by asset. Use the Rapid entry of stock items per store form only for stock initialization. Once you have initialized an entire store, follow up with a thorough physical inventory before issuing or receiving parts for normal business. If you initialize stock using the Rapid entry of stock items per store form (SDREST), Datastream 7i will not create a record of the transaction. |
Follow these steps to initialize stock.
Open the Rapid entry of stock items per store form (SDREST).
Store—Click to select the store.
Part—Enter the part number or double-click to select a part. Click to view existing part information or to define part information if it is a new part.
|
If the MULTIORG and AUTOPNUM installation parameters are both set to YES and you change the organization of the part, Datastream 7i automatically generates a part number for the new organization. |
Bin—Enter the bin storing the parts.
Lot—Enter the lot number, or batch, of the parts.
Quantity—Enter the number of parts available.
Price—Enter or modify the price of the part as necessary.
|
Datastream 7i automatically populates Price with the base price of the part if the part already exists in the selected store. You can modify the price as necessary; however, you must enter a value for Price. Price cannot be null. |
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
