Define codes to represent individual employees, and then use the employee codes to track full-time, part-time, and seasonal personnel.
Follow these steps to define employee codes.
Open the Employee form (WNPERS).
Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.
Employee—Enter a unique code identifying the employee.
Name—Enter the employee’s name.
Organization—Click to select the organization to which the employee belongs if you use multi-organization security.
Class—Click to select the class of the employee. The classes shown belong to the PERS entity.
Trade—Click to select the employee’s trade.
Dept—Click to select the employee’s department.
Capacity—Enter the average availability of a person. Enter 1 to indicate full-time availability. For part-time availability, enter a decimal portion (e.g., .5, .75, etc). Datastream 7i uses this value in the Microsoft Project Interface and in Datastream 7i scheduling for global scheduling purposes.
E-mail address—Enter the employee’s e-mail address as necessary.
Notification preference—Click to select the employee’s notification preference.
User—Click to select the employee’s user name.
Out of service—Select to indicate that this employee is no longer active, or to prevent the record from being displayed in the list of values.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
