> Defining Failure Codes

Define failure codes to identify the reason the equipment failed.

Follow these steps to define failure codes.

1. Open the Failure codes form (ONFACO).

2. Code—Enter a unique code identifying the failure.

3. Description—Enter a description of the failure.

4. General—Select to make the failure code available to associate with any equipment class. General failure codes apply to general terms (e.g., overheating, dirt, etc.). Unselect to restrict this code for association with specific equipment classes.

5. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
