Certain work orders always require the same materials. Define material lists to correspond with specific activities, and then add parts to the material lists.

Follow these steps to define material lists for specific activities.
Open the Material lists form (WNMATL).

If using PM Revision Control, you can also create revisions using the Material lists (WNMATL) form. |
Material list—Enter a unique code identifying the material list.
Description—Enter a description of the material list.
Organization—Click to select the organization to which the material list belongs if you use multi-organization security.
Class—Click to select the class of the material list. The classes shown belong to the MATL entity.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
Click the Parts tab. Datastream 7i displays the Parts page.
Line—Enter a line number for each required part.
Parts—Click to select each required part.
Quantity—Enter the quantity needed.
Critical—Select if the part is critical to all work activities requiring the material list.
Reserve—Select to reserve the part when this material list is requested on a new work order.
Equipment—Click to select the category or equipment associated with the part. Datastream 7i displays the part for issue only when you associate the material with a work order that has the specified category or equipment.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
