> Defining Tools as Parts

Follow these steps to define tools as parts.

1. Open the Parts form (SMPART).

2. Query for the part to define as a tool. Many parts may link to one tool. Datastream recommends linking only parts that are tracked by quantity.

3. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

4. Tools—Click to select the tool.

5. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
