> Adding Parts to Internal Repair Requisitions

After creating the requisition header for an internal repair, add parts to the internal repair requisition.

Enter all requisition line items before changing requisition status. Once an unfinished requisition has the status R—Ready for printing, you cannot add new parts to the requisition.

Follow these steps to add parts to internal repair requisitions.

  1. Open the Purchase requisitions form (SMREQS).

  2. Query for the internal repair requisition to which to add parts.

  3. Click the Parts tab. Datastream 7i displays the Parts page.

  4. Line—Enter the requisition line number. The default line numbering is 1, 2, 3, etc.

  5. Part—Click to select the part.

Datastream 7i displays only parts from the requesting store with a Quantity to be repaired greater than 0. Quantities already assigned to a requisition or work order are not included.

  1. Warranty—Select if the part or item is covered under warranty and no charges are expected for the repairs.

  2. Work order—Click to select the internal repair work order activity if you are specifying the work order at the requisition line level.

  3. Quantity required—Modify the quantity to be repaired as necessary.

  4. Required before—Enter the date by which the repaired parts will be needed.

  5. Price—Modify the price to repair the part as necessary.

  6. Expense type—Click to select the code that categorizes the item cost.

  7. Buyer—Click to select the buyer.

  8. Commodity—Click to select the commodity code that classifies the part or item.

To add comments on the requisitions, click Comments. Datastream 7i displays the Comments dialog box. The Comments dialog box retains the permissions defined for the tab from which it is invoked.

  1. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.

When you are satisfied with the requisition, change the Status to R—Ready for printing and then to A—Approved/active on the Record view page. You must save the requisition after each change of status.

After the requisition is approved, assign the repairable spares to bins.
