> Adding Services to Requisitions

After creating the requisition header, add services to the requisition.

   Enter all requisition line items before changing requisition status. Once an unfinished requisition has the status R—Ready for printing, you cannot add new services to the requisition.

Follow these steps to add services to requisitions.

  1. Supplier—Click to select the supplier.

  2. Supplier reference—Click to select the supplier reference number.

  3. Work order—Enter the work order number if the service requisition is designated for external services (SF or ST).

   You must select Order on the work order activity line to create a service requisition for a work order and activity combination.

  To create a work order, enter a piece of Equipment and a Trade, and then click Create WO. To create an activity, enter a Work order and a Trade, and then click Create activity.

 Additionally, if the selected work order is associated with a project/budget, Datastream 7i automatically populates Project/budget with the associated project and budget code.

 Only authorized users for the project on the work order can request materials for the project associated with the selected work order.

  1. Equipment—Click to select equipment to associate with the service requisition.

  2. Dept—Click to select the department requesting the service.

  3. Task—Click to select a task if the service will be contracted.

  4. Trade—Click to select a trade if the service will be contracted.

  5. Hours requested—Enter the number of hours required to perform the service.

  6. Required before—Enter the date by which the service is needed.

  7. Units—Enter the number of units requiring service, and then enter a unit of measure in the adjacent field, e.g., 1000 (units) square feet.

  8. Quotation indicator—Enter the code identifying the type of price quotation required. Refer to the following codes:

  1. Blanket order—Click to select the blanket order and blanket order line number, if applicable.

  2. Price—Enter the cost of the service, and then enter the currency in the adjacent field.

  3. Warranty—Select to indicate that the service requisition falls under a warranty.

  4. Delivery address—Click to select the address for the service requisition.

  5. Buyer—Click to select the employee responsible for the service requisition.

  6. Expense type—Click to select the category of the expense.

  7. Commodity—Click to select the type or category of the part or items required for the service requisition.

  8. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
