After creating and approving purchase requisitions for internal or external repairs, assign the requisition line(s) to bins storing repairable spares.
Follow these steps to assign repair requisition lines to parts in bins.
Open the Assign repair quantity form (SXRQAS).
Query for the requisition and requisition line for which to assign parts in bins.
Choose one of the following options:
Manually assign bins—Enter, for Assigned, the quantity of parts from each bin.
Automatically assign bins—Click Assign all. Datastream 7i assigns the requisitioned quantity to bins in the order listed until all parts have been assigned. For example, if the requisition line requires 3 parts, Datastream 7i assigns as many parts as possible to the first bin listed and then assigns parts from the second bin, etc.
|
If the repairable spare is tracked by asset, the lower section of the form lists all equipment with a status of To be repaired. For assets, Assigned must equal 0 or 1. |
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
|
If you change the status of a related requisition from Approved/active after you have assigned bins, Datastream 7i deletes all bin assignments for that requisition. |
After assigning requisition lines to parts in bins, add the part details to purchase orders for externally repaired parts or to work orders for internally repaired parts.
