> Creating Quotation Headers

Creating a request for quotation is a two step process. Create the quotation header on the Quotations form (QMQUOT), and then add quotation line details for parts and services.

   Use this form to alter quotation information until actually issuing a purchase order.

Follow these steps to create quotation headers.

  1. Open the Quotations form (QMQUOT).

  2. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

  3. Quotation—Enter a description of the quotation in the adjacent field. Datastream 7i assigns a quotation number after you save the record.

  4. Organization—Click to select the organization to which the quotation belongs if you use multi-organization security.

  5. Class—Click to select the class of the quotation. The classes shown belong to the QUOT entity.

  6. Due date—Enter the date by which the supplier must respond.

  7. Store—Click to select the storeroom for which the quotation is requested.

  8. Originator—Click to select the employee requesting the quotation.

  9. Supplier—Click to select the supplier receiving the quotation request.

Datastream 7i obtains Currency, Exchange rate, Language, and Lead time information from the corresponding records, if available. Change the Currency and Language as necessary. If the installation parameter POCURR is set to NO, Datastream 7i creates order lines with the same currency as the quotation header.

   Double-click in Total value to view price, currency, and exchange rate information.

  1. Valid until—Enter the expiration date of the quote.

  2. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
