> Defining Host Command Parameters

Define sets of parameters to pass to external applications.

Follow these steps to define host command parameters.

  1. Open the User functions form (BMUFUN).

  2. Query for the function defined on the User functions form (BMUFUN).

  3. Click the Report parameters tab. Datastream 7i displays the Report parameters page.

  4. Line—Enter a sequential number to indicate the order of each parameter for each user function. This line number also defines the order in which Datastream 7i displays the parameters on the report selection screen that executes the function.

  5. Parameter—Enter the host command parameter defined on the Commands form (BMCMND).

  6. Length—Enter the maximum length of the parameter.

  7. Default—Enter the default value of the parameter.

  8. Repeat the steps above for all of the parameters in the host command.

   When accessing Oracle Reports, the parameters in the report source codes are the same as those entered here.

  1. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
