Add parts not assigned to a requisition to internal repair work orders and assign the work order lines to parts in bins.
Follow these steps to add parts to internal repair work orders.
Open the Work orders form (WMJOBS).
Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.
Choose one of the following options:
Add parts to an existing repairable spare work order—Query for the repairable spare work order to which to add parts.
Create a repairable spare work order—Click , for WO type, to select Repairable spare.
Enter the necessary work order information, and then save the record.
Click the Repair parts tab. Datastream 7i displays the Repair parts page.
Part—Click to select the part to be repaired internally.
|
Datastream 7i only displays parts that have Repairable spare selected on the Parts form (SMPART) and have a Quantity to be repaired greater than 0. |
Quantity—Enter the quantity to be repaired.
|
Add parts on a requisition line to work orders using the Assign internal repair requisitions to work orders form (SXIRWO). |
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
Complete the following steps in the lower section of the form:
Assigned—Enter the number of parts from each store/bin combination to assign to this work order.
|
The sum of the Assigned quantities cannot be greater than the required Quantity. The Assigned quantity cannot be greater than the Available quantity. |
For parts tracked by asset, Datastream 7i lists, in the lower section of the form, all equipment of the part with a Status of To be repaired. For assets, Assigned must equal 1 or 0.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
Complete the following steps in the top section of the form:
Active—Select to make the line active. If Active is not selected, Datastream 7i does not update the stock record for that part, i.e., increasing Quantity at shop and decreasing Quantity to be repaired.
|
Active can be selected only if the Quantity equals the sum of the Assigned quantities. |
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database and decreases the Quantity to be repaired on the stock record and increases the Quantity in shop. If the part is tracked by asset, Datastream 7i also changes the equipment’s Status to In repair.
After finishing the work, receive the repaired parts into stores and then close the work order.
