Allocate parts automatically using the Requested items for work orders (batch update) form (SBRESL). Allocate parts manually using the Reserving parts form (SDALDE). Datastream 7i checks the stock levels against reservations and allocates parts when the following criteria are met:
The quantity reserved for a work order is less than the current quantity available in the store.
The number of days to the start of the work order is less than the lead time for procuring the part.
Stores may then issue the reserved part or wait until the criteria are met, keeping the part as a reservation. If you reschedule a pending work order, Datastream 7i may cancel the allocation, which increases store quantities. As a result, part reservations that could not be allocated due to insufficient quantities may now be allocated.
Follow these steps to allocate parts.
Open the Requested items for work orders (batch update) form (SBRESL).
Dept—Click to select the department for allocating stock items reserved for work order activities.
Click on the reports toolbar. Datastream 7i prints the report.
