Once a new revision is Approved, the status of the previous Approved revision changes to Superseded. When a revision is no longer needed, you can change the revision status to Canceled.

Before approving revisions, change the status of the revision to Request approval. |
Manually enter these changes:
Unfinished to Request approval
Rejected to Unfinished
Request approval to Unfinished
Unfinished to Canceled
Rejected to Canceled

Changing the status to Approved, Rejected, or Superseded can only be done automatically using the Revision control approvals form (WXAPPR). You do not need approval for automatic status changes. |
Follow these steps to approve or reject a new revision.
Open the Revision control approval form (WXAPPR).

If My turn is selected, the current user is the next person required to approve the current revision. |
Select one of the following options:
Approved?Select to approve the current revision.
Rejected?Select to reject the current revision. If you reject this revision, you must enter a Revision reason. Rejection by one user results in the rejection of the entire revision.
Click Hyperlink to open the appropriate entity (tasks, schedules, routes, or material lists) to review the current revision.
If one user with a specific responsibility approves the revision, then the revision is auto matically approved for all users with the same responsibility. When all required users have approved the revision, the revision acquires a status of Approved.

To view all users who still need to approve the revision, click the Approvers tab. On the Approvers [age, you can also approve or reject the current revision, even if it is not your turn, or approve revisions for someone else. |
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
