Associate qualifications of trades and tasks with work order activities to establish the qualifications required for employees performing work. Qualification enforcement is determined by the WOQUAL installation parameter.
When you select a trade and/or a task code for a work order activity, Datastream 7i automatically retrieves any qualifications associated with the selected trade and/or task to the work order activity. You can also associate qualifications directly with the work order activity to enforce additional qualification requirements for the work order activity that are not inherited from the trade or task.
You can either define work order activities on the Work order activities form (WDACTJ) or on the Activities page of the Work orders form (WMJOBS).
Follow these steps to associate qualification with work order activities.
Open the Work orders form (WMJOBS).
Query for the work order for which to associate standardized qualifications.
Click the Activities tab. Datastream 7i displays the Activities page.
Select the activity for which to associate standardized qualifications.
Click the Qualifications tab. Datastream 7i displays the Qualifications subpage. Datastream 7i automatically displays any standardized qualifications defined for the trade/task associated with the work order activity.
Choose one of the following options:
Add a standardized qualification—Click , for Qualification, to select the qualification to associate with the work order activity. Datastream 7i adds the qualification and populates Source with Activity specific.

Datastream 7i selects Removed for any qualifications that are retrieved to the work order activity from a task/trade to indicate that the qualification is to be deleted from the trade record on the Trades form (WNTRAD) or deleted from the task record on the Task form (WNTASK). You can only delete work order activity qualifications inherited from a trade/task for which Removed is selected or that are activity specific. |
To link additional qualification from the trade that are not linked to the work order activity—Click Link qualifications from Trade. Datastream 7i retrieves any qualifications for the trade that are not already linked to this work order activity and populates Source with Trade for each retrieved qualification.

To link additional qualifications from the task that are not linked to the work order activity—Click Link qualifications from Task. Datastream 7i retrieves any qualifications for the trade that were not previously linked to this work order activity and populates Source with Task for each retrieved qualification.
