> Booking Hours for Activities

Book hours for activities to record the number of hours that employees worked for each work order activity.

You can also book hours for activities on the Activities page of the Work orders form (WMJOBS).

Follow these steps to book hours for activities.

  1. Open the Booked hours for activity form (WDBKEV).

  2. Query for the work order and activity for which to book hours. Datastream 7i displays the normal hours worked, the overtime worked, the estimated hours for the activity, and the remaining hours planned. If the work required an outside contractor, Datastream 7i displays the purchase order number in Purch ord.

  3. Date—Enter the date the hours were worked.

  4. Occupation type—Click to select the type of hours worked (e.g., hourly rate, overtime rate, corrective booking, etc.).

  5. Corrections—Select to mark this booking as a correction.

Only authorized users may enter booking corrections.

  1. Employee—Click to select the employee who performed the activity.

  2. Choose one of the following options:

If you enter the start and end times when booking activities and later that day enter another booking, you must re-enter the start and end times.

To correct a booking, do not alter a previous record. Instead, enter a new booking and mark the entry as a correction. Enter the correct number of hours, rather than the start and end times. Negative values are permitted.

  1. Dept—Click to select the department where the activity was performed.

  2. Trade—Click to select the trade that performed the activity.

  3. Rate—Enter or modify the hourly pay rate for the employee or trade performing the work as necessary. If you have defined a trade rate for the select employee or trade, Datastream 7i automatically populates Rate with the appropriate hourly rate, depending on the setting of the VWTRDRAT installation parameter.

If you have defined a trade rate for the selected Employee, Datastream 7i populates Rate with the employee trade rate. However, if you do not select an Employee or if you have not defined trade rates for the selected Employee, Datastream 7i populates Rate with the trade rate defined for the selected Trade.

However, if you have not defined a trade rate for either the selected employee or trade, Datastream 7i displays the Rate dialog box, and you must enter a valid rate before you can book hours for the activity.

  1. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
