> Calculating Usage Correlations

Calculate the usage of a piece of equipment by analyzing the amount of time the equipment was in use and the volume of work.

Follow these steps to calculate usage correlations.

  1. Open the Usage correlation form (WXRCOR).

  2. Equipment—Click in the middle field to select the equipment.

  3. Date from and Date to—Enter the dates to start and end the calculation.

  4. Volume UOM and Hours UOM—Click to select the unit of measure by which to calculate volume and time.

  5. Click Calculate. Datastream 7i displays the volume, time, and the volume per unit of time for each date in the selected period and the total for each column in Total.

Datastream 7i also displays the percentage of time the equipment was available in Availability and the percentage of time the equipment was used in Utilization according to the following calculations:

Datastream 7i calculates maximum hours by multiplying Hours by the number of days for which there is a meter reading. Therefore, the availability and utilization calculations may not be accurate unless you enter a meter reading every day that the equipment is used.
