Close completed work orders. Unless you set certain system parameters, you cannot make any changes to closed work orders or book additional labor against them. You can create and close work orders for emergency situations.
You can also close work orders on the Record view page of the Work orders form (WMJOBS).

If you close a PM work order, Datastream 7i generates the next PM work order. |
Upon completing a major PM work order, Datastream 7i automatically calculates the next due date for a previously bypassed minor PM for which there is a nesting reference.
If the new due date for a minor fixed or variable PM falls within a dormant period specified for the equipment of the PM, Datastream 7i automatically calculates a due date that falls outside of the dormant period. For a minor fixed PM, Datastream 7i calculates the appropriate due date by adding time to the due date calculated at completion of the major PM in the increment of the PM period until the due date for the PM is greater than the specified Dormant end date for the equipment associated with the PM.
For a minor variable PM, Datastream 7i calculates the next due date for a variable PM falling within a dormant period by assigning the new due date as the next day following the specified Dormant end date for the equipment associated with the PM.
Follow these steps to close work orders.
Open the Report on work completed form (WMCOMP).
Query for the work order to close.
Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

|
If you close a work order that has children attached, Datastream 7i recalculates and updates the status of all child work orders attached. If you close the last child work order in a sequence, Datastream 7i recalculates the requested start and end dates for all child work orders. A parent work order cannot be closed until all dependent child work orders have been closed. When you complete a major PM, Datastream 7i automatically assigns the status specified for Complete status on the Record view page of the Preventive maintenance schedules form (WMPPMS) to the minor PM, e.g., Completed or Rejected. Additionally, if you set the status of a major PM to Awaiting release, Datastream 7i also sets the status of any related bypassed minor PMs to Awaiting release. |
