Create rapid work requests for urgent maintenance situations. When you create a rapid work request, Datastream 7i searches for a standard work order that matches the following criteria:
Problem code
Class of the equipment
Category of the equipment
If Datastream 7i finds a matching standard work order, it applies the activity information for the standard work order to a new activity for the work request. If Datastream 7i does not find a matching standard work order, it creates a first activity for the work request based on the craft entered.
If you have authorization to release work orders, Datastream 7i automatically turns the rapid work request into a work order (with a status of Released); if you do not have authorization, the rapid work order request remains a request (with a status of Work request).

You can also create rapid work requests based on existing work requests. Query for the work request, and then change the status to Released. Datastream 7i creates the work order. |
