> Creating Regular Work Requests

Create regular work requests for maintenance work orders, and then supervisors or other authorized employees either approve or reject them.

Follow these steps to create regular work requests.

  1. Open the Work requests form (WMWREQ).

  2. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the record view page.

  3. Work order—Enter a description of the problem in the adjacent field. Datastream 7i assigns a work order number after you save the record.

  4. Class—Click to select the class of the work request. The classes shown belong to the EVNT entity.

  5. Priority—Click to select a priority for the work request. The values displayed belong to the JBPR entity.

  6. WO type—Click to select the work order type.

  7. Department—Click to select the department.

  8. Warranty—Select to indicate that the work is covered by a manufacturer warranty.

  9. Status—Click to select the work order status.

  10. Equipment—Click to select the equipment on which to perform the work.

  11. Location—Click to select the location of the work to be done.

  12. Project—Click to select the project and the project budget.

   You cannot select a frozen Project.

  1. Target date—Enter the target start date for the work request.

  2. Problem code—Click to select the code to identify the type of problem.

  3. Cost code—Click to select the cost code for the work request.

  4. Assigned to—Click to select the person responsible for the work.

  5. Requested by—Click to select the employee requesting the work.

  6. Shift—Click to select the shift to perform the work.

  7. Date/time reported—Enter the date and time the work request was reported.

  8. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
