Create/update multiple work orders using the Batch work order generation form (WMBWOG).
The Batch work order generation form (WMBWOG) consists of two pages: the Parameters page, on which you define the selection criteria for locating the work orders to process in the batch; and the Report Preview page, on which you can preview the work orders in the batch prior to actually processing them and select or unselect the work orders to process as necessary.
The Output options section of the Parameters page enables you to specify your preferences for processing the output of the batch generation process. Preview and Print summary report are selected by default. Unselect Preview and/or Print summary report as necessary.
When Preview is selected and you click Process on the Parameters page, Datastream 7i displays the Report Preview page listing all of the work orders meeting the selection criteria. When you unselect Preview, Datastream 7i will not display the Report Preview page and automatically processes the work orders based on the specified Output options and Generate options.
When Print summary report is selected, Datastream 7i automatically generates a summary report of all the work orders processed after the batch generation process is complete. Unselect Print summary report to prevent Datastream 7i from generating the summary report.
The Generate options section of the Parameters page enables you to specify the manner in which Datastream 7i processes the work orders during the batch generation process. Release work orders for fixed/variable PM is selected by default, enabling Datastream 7i to automatically release all PM work orders of PM Type Fixed or Variable with a Status of Awaiting release. When you unselect Release work orders for fixed/variable PM, Datastream 7i will not automatically release any fixed or variable PM work orders during the batch generation process.
If you choose to release fixed/variable PM work orders, Datastream 7i will release the fixed or variable PM work orders based on their due dates. If you have specified a dormant period for the equipment attached to the fixed/variable PM, Datastream 7i temporarily postpones the release of the fixed/variable PM if the due date for the PM falls within the specified dormant period.
Datastream 7i automatically recalculates the next due date for a fixed PM falling within a dormant period by incrementally adding the PM period to the due date until the due date for the PM is greater than the specified Dormant end date for the equipment.
Datastream 7i recalculates the next due date for a variable PM falling within a dormant period by assigning the new due date as the next day following the specified Dormant end date for the equipment associated with the PM.
|
Adding a dormant period to PM equipment does not affect any previously created or released PM work orders, and you can manually release them on the Release selected work orders form (WNRELJ). |
The Report Preview page allows you to preview all of the work orders selected for processing based on the selection parameters, enabling you to select or unselect work orders to include in the batch generation process before you actually process the work order batch. You can select or unselect individual work orders for processing, or you can select or unselect all work orders for processing.
Follow these steps to generate batch work orders.
Open the Batch work order generation form (WMBWOG).
Department, Equipment, PM, PM class, WO type, Location, and Scheduling group—Click to select one or all of these selection parameters for generating the work order batch.
Generate through—Enter the date until which to process the work orders.
|
To generate all work orders meeting the specified selection criteria up to the current date, leave Generate through blank. |
Keep values—Unselect to prevent Datastream 7i from retaining the values entered after generating the work order batch.
Print work orders—Select to print work order cards for the work orders created/updated when processing the work order batch.
Generate work orders for duplicate PM—Select to create PM work orders that are of the type Duplicate when processing the work order batch. Datstream 7i automatically assigns the status entered for the PPMSTAT installation parameter to the PM work orders created during the batch process.
Release current status—Select to indicate that, upon processing, Datastream 7i will locate all work orders of a specific status and change that status to the status entered for the WORKWOST installation parameter. Once selected, Datastream 7i enables the field below Release current status, in which you must click to select the status from which to change work orders.
Click Process. Datastream 7i displays the Report Preview page listing all of the work orders meeting the selection criteria.
The Report Preview page retains the settings for Print summary report and Print work orders from the Parameters page. You can select or unselect Print summary report and/or Print work orders as necessary.
Select—Select each work order you wish to create/update in the work order batch as necessary, or you can unselect each work order you do not wish to create/update in the work order batch as necessary. When you click Generate, Datastream 7i creates/updates the work order for each work order selected.
|
Click Select all to select all work orders, or click Clear all to unselect all work orders. |
Click Generate. Datastream 7i creates/updates the work order for the selected records.
|
If you have set up Datastream 7i to require an electronic signature to authorize status changes to work order headers, Datastream 7i will display the Electronic signature dialog box for every work order in the work order batch for which there is a status change. Additionally, the FAAMOD installation parameter determines whether you are required to enter a certification number and certification type for electronic signatures. If FAAMOD is set to ON, Datastream 7i displays Certification number and Certification type on the Electronic signature dialog box and you must enter a valid certification number and type for the signature. Certification numbers and types are associated with qualifications for employees on the Qualifications tab of the Employees form (WNPERS). |
