> Reallocating Direct Materials

Reallocate direct materials received to a work order to different work orders. If workers do not use all of the parts issued to a work order, the parts can be transferred directly to a different work order.

Follow these steps to reallocate direct materials.

  1. Open the Reallocate direct materials form (SXDIMR).

  2. Work order—Query for the work order and activity from which to transfer direct materials.

Datastream 7i populates the remaining read-only fields with part information from the work order and activity selected.

  1. To work order—Click to select the work order and activity to which to transfer direct materials.

  2. Transfer qty—Enter the number of parts to transfer.

  3. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.

Datastream 7i performs the necessary calculations when you save the record. If the part is available in a warehouse, Datastream 7i issues these parts to the work order first. Any remaining parts come from the work order.
