> Recording Tool Usage

Record tool usage once you complete the work order.

   You can also record tool usage when returning a tool on the Stock issues form (SDISSU).

   View overviews of tool costs on the Tool form (WRTOCO).

Follow these steps to record tool usage.

  1. Open the Tool usage form (WDUSTO).

  2. Query for the tool for which to record usage.

  3. Query for the work order and activity for which to record tool usage.

  4. Date—Enter the date on which the tool was used.

  Datastream 7i displays the department of the tool. To bill tool charges to a different department, click for Dept to select another department.

  1. Quantity—Enter the number of tools used.

  2. Hours requested—Enter the number of hours the tool was in use.

  3. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
