Request tools from the department for specified work order activities. Record tool requirements of multiple activities of a specified work order.
Follow these steps to request tools for work orders.
Open the Tools for activity form (WDACTO).
Query for the work order and activity for which to request tools.
Complete the following steps in the lower section of the form:
Tools—Enter the tool to request.
Department—Enter the department if it is different than the default department.
Date required—Enter the date when you need the tool.
Quantity required—Enter the number of tools you need.
Scheduled hours—Enter the number of hours required to complete the work order.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i calculates the following information:
Capacity required—Displays the quantity of tools required multiplied by the number of hours required for the tool
Capacity available—Displays the quantity of tools available at the department multiplied by the number of hours per day that the tool is available
Total capacity—Displays the quantity of tools required multiplied by the number of hours required for the tool on the date it is required for all activities
