> Defining Route Inspection Points

Associate routes with a particular sequence of inspection points. The options shown depend on whether you are defining an inspection route for equipment or a route template.

Follow these steps to define route inspection points.

  1. Open the Route inspection points form (IDROPO).

  2. Query for the inspection route to associate with points. Datastream 7i obtains all available records.

  3. Sequence—Enter the sequence number of the inspection point.

  4. Equip/category—Click to select the equipment or category that is first in the inspection route sequence.

Remember that for regular inspection routes, you associate equipment inspection points. For route templates, you associate category inspection points.

  1. Type—Click to select the point type.

  2. Point—Click to select the point that is first in the inspection route sequence.

  3. Level—Enter a level value when associating category inspection points. This value tells Datastream 7i where the inspection point is found on the equipment. The equipment specified on the work order is a level 1. Any child equipment items (of the same type) are a level 2 or higher. If you leave this field blank, Datastream 7i automatically searches the existing equipment hierarchy (as defined on the Equipment form (OMOBJC)). Datastream 7i associates inspection points for all child equipment that match the specified class and category, independent of the level.

  4. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
