Due to the many types of formulae used to calculate risk-based inspections, it is necessary to define conversion factors so that Datastream 7i automatically performs conversions, e.g., the conversion between the metric system and US measurements.
Datastream 7i calculates conversions with this formula:
(base) UOM = conversion factor * convert to UOM
Follow these steps to define conversion factors for measuring units.
Open the UOM form (BNUOMS).
Query for the unit of measure for which to define conversions.
Click the UOM conversion tab. Datastream 7i displays the UOM conversion page.
Conversion factor—Enter the number by which to convert the unit of measure.
Convert to UOM—Enter the unit of measure to which to apply the conversion.
Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
