> Defining Ranges for Critical Values

Define ranges for critical values of the risk focus, and then associate them to a criticality code. When you link the risk focus to equipment and then score the risk focus, Datastream 7i refers to the range to translate the critical value into a criticality code.

Follow these steps to define ranges for critical values.

  1. Open the Equipment risk assessment form (INRISK).

  2. Query for the risk focus for which to define ranges.

  3. Click the Ranges tab. Datastream 7i displays the Ranges page.

  4. Minimum value and Maximum value—Enter a numeric value for minimum and maximum critical value.

  5. Criticality—Click to select the criticality code to associate with the range. If the critical value of the risk focus falls within this range, Datastream 7i assigns this criticality code to the equipment associated with the risk focus.

Define criticality codes on the Codes page of the Entities form (BNENTS) for the OBCR entity.

  1. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
