> Defining Wall Thickness for Piping Classes

Define nominal wall thickness of a pipe based on the material composition of the pipe and the nominal outer diameter of the pipe as defined by the international standards organizations.

Follow these steps to define wall thickness for piping classes.

  1. Open the Piping classes form (IMPIPC).

  2. Query for the piping class for which to define wall thickness.

  3. Click the Wall thickness tab. Datastream 7i displays the Wall thickness page.

  4. Pipe size (inches)—Enter the nominal pipe size in inches.

  5. Schedule—Enter the ratio relationship between stress and wall thickness.

  6. Wall thickness—Enter the nominal wall thickness in millimeters at installation.

  7. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
