> Defining Pricing Schedules

Define time/material calculations, work orders, custom tariffs, and part-specific charges for pricing schedules. Datastream 7i initially creates a default work order record for each pricing schedule to apply to any work order.

Follow these steps to define pricing schedules.

  1. Fixed/Added—Enter a fee associated with the pricing schedule as necessary. For example, if you assess a standard trip charge regardless of the work performed, enter that amount.

  2. Time rounding (min)—Enter the number of minutes to round charged time of booked hours. For example, a value of 15 indicates rounding to quarters of an hour.

  3. Minimum time (min)—Enter the minimum number of minutes to charge per booking.

  4. Custom tariffs—Select to apply custom tariffs. The labor cost-charge percentage does not apply and must be null.

  5. Part class—Select to indicate if the part charges depend on the type of part used. The stock-items percentage in the current function does not apply and must be null.

  6. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.

  7. Click the Work orders tab. Datastream 7i displays the Work orders page.

  8. Department—Click to select the department performing the work. If two pricing schedules include the same work order, the pricing schedule for which a department other than
    * (Default/All Departments) is specified takes precedence.

  9. WO type—Click to select the work order type. If two pricing schedules include the same work order and both have a department code specified, the pricing schedule for which a work order type other than * (All job types) is specified takes precedence.

  10. Equipment class—Click to select the equipment class on which the work will be performed. If two pricing schedules include the same work order and both have a department code and work order type specified, the pricing schedule for which an equipment class other than * (All classes) is specified takes precedence.

  11. Click the Custom tariffs tab. Datastream 7i displays the Custom tariffs page.

Datastream 7i uses the data on the Custom tariffs page only if you select Custom tariffs on the Record view page.

  1. Trade—Click to select the trade for which to charge the custom tariff to the customer.

  2. Type—Click to select the type of work hours to charge to the customer.

Additional user codes can be configured in Datastream 7i for additional types, e.g., weekend rate.

  1. Hourly rate—Enter the hourly rate to charge the customer.

If two detail lines on the Custom tariffs page contain the same information, the line for which a trade other than * (Default/All Trades) is specified takes precedence.

Click the Part charges tab. Datastream 7i displays the Part charges page.

Datastream 7i uses the data on the Part charges page only if you select Part class on the Record view page.

  1. Part class—Click to select the class of the parts charged to the customer.

  2. Charge %—Choose one of the following options:
