> Creating a Validation File

Create a validation file to be uploaded to the scanner. Run a scanner application to validate equipment records in the Datastream 7i database against equipment records scanned in the field.

Follow these steps to create a validation file.

  1. Open the Create cycle count validation file form (TXCCAU).

  2. User—Click to select the user name.

  3. Type—Query for equipment records. Datastream 7i displays the parent record in Equipment and the child records in Child.

  4. Click to move a child record into Equipment and view the child records of that record.

  5. Click to select a record to be included in the validation file. Datastream 7i displays the record in Selected. Select up to 50 records to include in the validation file.

  6. Click Submit. Datastream 7i creates a table that includes all selected records.

  7. Enter the name for the validation file in the field adjacent to Write to file, and then click Write to file. Datastream 7i generates an ASCII file to upload to the scanner. 

  Click Purge today to purge today’s selected equipment records, or Purge all to purge all equipment records. Purging audit error records cannot be undone.
