> Creating New Project Work Orders

After defining the project and any subprojects, use the Work orders form (WMJOBS) to create the appropriate work orders. Use the Activities page of the Work orders form (WMJOBS) and/or the Work order activities form (WDACTJ) to create the appropriate activities for the work orders.

If you are using multi-organization security (MOS), you must create work orders in a specific organization. If you create a work order for a master project in a common organization, Datastream 7i still considers the work order for the master project to be in a specific organization for recording budget information related to the work order and project.

Follow these steps to create new project work orders.

  1. Open the Work orders form (WMJOBS).

  2. Query for the work order for which to create a project.

  3. Click the Record view tab. Datastream 7i displays the Record view page.

  4. Enter information into the fields as necessary.

  5. Project—Click to select the project and the project budget of the work order.

You cannot associate a frozen Project with a work order.

  1. Choose File | Save from the menu bar. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database.
