Enter calibration results for calibration work orders to report calibration data for the actual work performed while calibrating a piece of equipment.
When a work order is created or generated, Datastream 7i retrieves all the calibration data and test points from the calibration equipment to the work order. If the equipment on the work order is a loop, Datastream 7i creates test points for the loop. You can view a list of all loop instruments for a work order as necessary.
The value displayed for Total TP is the total number of test points retrieved from the equipment record(s) to the work order. Datastream 7i updates the value of Total TP whenever a test point is updated, inserted, or deleted.
The calibration results you enter for the equipment determines the Calibration status of the work order, as well as the Status for each test point. The initial status for a calibration work order header is Incomplete. The header status remains Incomplete until all of the test point information is entered and all of the test points pass, or until one of the test points fails. If a test point fails, the Calibration status for the header is set to Fail. The Calibration status is only set to Pass when all the test points on the work order have passed.
When entering results for both "as found" and "as left" data, you must enter a value for the Device reading, Tolerance, and Standard, as well as the units of measure for the tolerance and standard.
The date displayed for Last calibrated is the completion date of the last PM work order for the equipment on the work order header. Datastream 7i also populates Cal. interval from the PM work order for the equipment.

Generate a Calibration record report (WRCALR) for a work order as necessary before beginning the calibration process. The Calibration record report includes calibration header and test point information for the work order in a tabular format that serves as a guide for the technician performing the calibration. The report documents all of the test point information for the work order, which indicates what actually needs to be done for the calibration work order. The report also provides space to physically record the actual results of the calibration process, approval signatures, etc. |
Follow these steps to enter calibration results.
Open the Work orders form (WMJOBS).
Query for the calibration work order for which to enter calibration results.
Click the Calibration tab. Datastream 7i displays the Calibration page.
Effective date—Enter the effective date for the S.O.P. document.
Enter data for an existing test point or create a new test point in the Test Points section of the form.
Choose one of these options:
To enter data for an existing test point—Select the test Equipment, Test point, and/or Sequence record for which to enter calibration data.
|
You can use either use the forms toolbar to navigate between records, or you can use the up and down arrow keys. |
To create a new test point for which to enter data—Select the Equipment, and then enter the Sequence, Test point, and the test point unit of measure in the adjacent field.
Comments—Enter comments for the test point as necessary.
|
Enter comments directly into Comments, or double-click in Comments, and Datastream 7i displays an editor enabling you to enter or update comments using the editor. |
Not applicable—Select to indicate whether the test point is applicable for the calibration process.
Enter the following information indicating the initial calibration results in the As found section of the form.
Datastream 7i automatically populates Tolerance with the device tolerance range specified for the test point.
|
Datastream 7i always displays Tolerance in an absolute number format, even if the value is a percentage, e.g., Datastream 7i displays 75 for a device tolerance of 75%. |
Standard—Enter the test point value. Datastream 7i automatically populates the unit of measure in the adjacent field with the unit of measure defined for the standard on the instrument record. You can modify the unit of measure as necessary.
Output—Enter the value of the test point output. Datastream 7i automatically populates the unit of measure in the adjacent field with the unit of measure defined for the output on the instrument record. You can modify the unit of measure as necessary.
Device reading—Enter the value of the device reading for the test point, e.g., 15.
Datastream 7i automatically populates Status based on the calibration results you enter, the Tolerance, and the Service %.
If an instrument adjustment and/or recalibration are required, enter the following information indicating the calibration results for any adjustments/recalibration in the As left section of the form.
|
Click Copy to AL to copy the As found data for the selected test point to the As left section of the form. Datastream 7i copies the values for Standard, Output (including their units of measure), and the to and from Tolerance. If As left data already exists, you can either select to overwrite it with the copied data or cancel the copying process. |
Tolerance—Enter the tolerance range of the test point, e.g., 14.25 to 30.
Device reading—Enter the value of the device reading for the test point, e.g., 15.
Datastream 7i automatically populates Status based on the calibration results you enter, the Tolerance, and the Service %.
Datastream 7i also displays all of the parts associated as standards in the Standards Used section of the form. Complete the following steps in the Standards Used section of the form to add new standards for the calibration as necessary.
Part—Click to select the part used as the standard.
Equipment—Click to select the equipment associated with the part. Select the equipment associated with the part for parts tracked by asset. If the part is tracked by lot, you can only select equipment belonging to the same lot of the part.
Lot—Click to select the lot for the part used as the standard.
Datastream 7i automatically populates Next cal. date with the due date of the next calibration PM work order for the standard. However, if the standard is a part tracked by lot, then Datastream 7i automatically populates Next cal. date with the expiration date of the lot to which the part belongs.
Choose File | Save. Datastream 7i saves the information to the database. Enter and/or update calibration results for test points as necessary.
