After preparing a planning session in Datastream 7i, import the session into MS Project.
Follow these steps to import sessions into MS Project from Datastream 7i.
Open MS Project using the Datastream 7i shortcut created during installation of the MS Project add-in.
|
To import data from Datastream 7i, the current project in MS Project must be empty. Additionally, you must either have a new empty project open, or the MP5.MPT template should be open. |
Choose Tools | Datastream 7i Add-in from the MS Project menu. MS Project displays the Datastream 7i AddIn dialog box.
Click Import from 7i. MS Project displays the Datastream 7i Scheduling Projects dialog box, which lists all Datastream 7i sessions with a Project status of Ready to export.
Select the project to import, and then click OK. MS Project imports the scheduling project and changes the Project status in Datastream 7i to Exported or Approved/completed if the session is a Monitoring session.
|
You can only import one scheduling project at a time. |
Schedule the work order activities in MS Project, and then export the schedule to Datastream 7i.
|
Although you can update anything in MS Project, Datastream 7i will only update the resources assigned, duration, target date, activity start date, estimated hours, predecessors, and percent complete. |
